Conflict at work causes stress and reduces productivity:

•   Conflict frequently appears to arise between individuals and teams because of conflicting priorities

•   Most commonly, however, the dispute and resulting tension are due to underlying differences in communication.  This is particularly the case between teams of different specialists – for example data analysts and policy-makers.

  An understanding of the different communication styles and language patterns used by those involved in the conflict can lead to conflict resolution and the establishment of more effective working across the organisation.

•   Conflict resolution techniques can be used at individual, team and even organisational level.
